If you're a resident of Lake Mary, Oviedo, or Sanford, have a Florida
Driver's license, or you received a traffic ticket in Florida, then traffic school may be for you! By electing traffic
school you may be able to avoid points on your driver's license, and maintain your clean driving record.
In
order to sign up for traffic school you must go to the courthouse or one of the two branch offices. You must enroll, attend and complete an approved driving course within 60 days of enrolling. You are required to submit
a certificate of completion to the Clerk's office.
If you elect traffic scholl but do not attend you must
pay back the 18 percent discount amount and pay a $15.00 processing fee. If you fail to pay these two amounts, your license
will be suspended. Also, the original points stemming from the violation will be assessed on your driving record.
There are 29 Driver School Course Providers in Florida. Traffic schools are listed
in your local telephone directory under "driving instruction" or "traffic schools. To find online you can click here for a list of approved Florida DMV approved traffic schools. The cost of traffic school is around $22 to $44.
